Login encryption

All our integrated web services, when necessary, use your EUI login, secured with a fully encrypted connection.

This way, we never have access to your password, and we can offer you login protected services with full security.

We warmly invite you to never share your password with anybody.

Every time we ask you for an EUI login to access a service that we provide, we do it on a eui.eu or login.microsoftonline.com page. The URL is always preceded by the text "https", with an "s".

Instead of HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), this website uses HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).

Please make sure that they both show the green security certificate symbol on your browser before login.

Your data

Our centralised and integrated structure, enables you to have a full control on your personal data used by all our web services.

From a single access point, a page called "your personal data", you can easily control all your personal information used by our web services.

In our centralised and integrated structure, the information used by all our web services, is never be copied or repeated but simply used, aggregated and presented in different ways.

We don't copy/paste or re-type your name, email, etc., but simply use it, with all relevant and authorised services, thanks to an integrated infrastructure called rest API.

Some examples:

• If you change your twitter account, all the services that use that information, will be automatically updated.
• If you no longer want your twitter account to be publicly used by our web services, you can delete it. It will immediately disappear from everywhere it is used.
• If you want to know where a specific information about you is used, you can check that, easily, on your own.

Outdated or wrong data, can seriously affect your reputation, as well as the EUI cyber reputation.

Some data can be changed on your own, some other will require a workflow, and might be mandatory to use a specific service.

The centralisation and integration of your personal data, give you full control and enable us to effectively protect your information, unauthorised usage or leaks. With this structure, we're able to react in a fast and effective way to your requests, and at the same time we're free to innovate and offer web tools that are innovation-proof.

We can adopt new tools, or re-design existing ones, and simply integrate your data. We will not get stuck with manual migrations, copy/pasting, or massive export/import of data. These actions generate errors, outdated and un-controlled content, and significantly prevent your freedom to access, edit or delete your personal data.

Our goal, is to give you the best technology, to support your research activity, and to guarantee full accessibility and security, for your digital content, in a responsive way.

Note for Web Working Group members on custom code

It is strictly forbidden to add any custom code (including scripts, style or references to external code of any kind) in all the EUI centralised web services. In case of doubts or special needs, please refer to the Web Support service.

The usage of iframes, is strictly limited to the ones mentioned in the official documentation released by the EUI Web Unit.
